Ontario Public Library Week is October 19th to 25th
Join us at our Patron Thank You Day on Thursday October 23 at the Fonthill Branch for refreshments!!!!!!!!!

When this column appears in the Pelham News it will be August 7th and almost the last day of the summer children's programs. There will be one segment of Mad Science, namely Lights, Colour, Action, on August 12th and the end of the Summer Reading Club that same week. The Reading Club BBQ--children who signed up for the Club will get a free hot dog or hamburger and a drink--will be at noon on Friday August 15th. The only other event, which is open to both children and adults/seniors, is the Ice Cream Social and involves making ice cream in a baggie and then consuming the result. Delicious!

As we start the hiring process for the next Pelham Library CEO, the Library Board is seeking input from our community. Have your voice included in the process by filling out the following short survey. Thank you for your input.

Summerfest has come and gone with lots of fun for everyone. The next event to look forward to is Civic Holiday weekend. The Library will be closed as usual on the holiday Monday, the 4th of August. Before the next time this column comes out there will be two Fridays with TGIF Crafting Drop-ins (25th July and 1st August at 1-3:30PM $2 No pre-registration needed) and one Gadget Clinic on July 26th from 12:30 to 3:30 Please register, pay ahead ($5 per half-hour) and outline the problem you are having with your device.

TD Summer Reading Club has begun (all ages). Sign up at either branch. Get a sticker on our Wall of Fame for every book read. Come in and report on the books you've read July 7, 14, 21, 28, Aug. 5 (Tues), 11 or come in to use our self-reporting station at any time.

Great programs for the summer are filling up fast - Mad Science, Canadian Raptor Conservancy, Summer Storytimes, Playdough Fun, Yarn Bombing, Stunning Structures and more!!!

Sign up in person and pay to hold your spot.

When it comes to library service what does state-of-the-art mean to you?

Did you see an idea in a library setting that you want to share with us? We would like to send out a challenge to Pelham residents this summer - when you are travelling, visit local public libraries in other communities and snap a picture of something you think is awesome, fabulous, or state-of-the-art.
