"She's Mine" Dramatic Reading
"She's Mine" tells the story of Sarah a mother of three, a wife of sixteen
years, and a long-standing member of her local church. When Sarah falls
for her daughter Mary's high-school guidance councillor, their lives are
turned upside down. Sarah is rapidly faced with a choice -- devastate her
family by coming out of the closet or maintain the status quo and live a
lie. At 15, Mary is just discovering her own sexuality and now is forced to
reconcile their relationship and her religious upbringing. The Essential

Discussion on Age Related Macular Degeneration
Bring your questions and join us as a CNIB specialist will be here to give
us some valuable information about Macular Degeneration. Handouts will be

Need a hand with your taxes?
The Community Resource Volunteer Income Tax Program provides volunteers who
can help complete income tax forms for clients who are eligible. Clients
are usually low-income seniors, students, social assistance recipients and
newcomers to Canada. Single individuals whose annual income is under
$25,000, and married couples (including common-law) whose annual income is
less than $30,000 may qualify. The amount of interest income should
normally not exceed $1,000. Volunteers do not complete income tax and
benefit returns involving rental income, capital gains, foreign income,
employment expenses, partnership income, self-employment income, or support.
Volunteers cannot complete returns for deceased individuals, bankrupt
individuals, returns for corporations or trusts, or returns with issues that
may be interpreted as complex. For more information about this free service
or to see if you qualify, call Canada Revenue at 1-800-959-8281. April 1,
2009. 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Please register ahead in person at the
Pelham Public Library.
Meet Alissa York, Award-winning Canadian Author
Effigy is a stunning novel by one of Canada's best young fiction writers,
set on a Mormon ranch in nineteenth-century Utah and inspired by real
events. Her first novel, Mercy, published by Random House Canada in 2003,
was a Canadian bestseller. Effigy, her newest novel was short-listed for the
prestigious Scotiabank Giller Prize. Wed., April 8, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.
