Banned Book Challenge
Set a goal for yourself to read as many banned or challenged books as
you wish from Feb. 21 (Freedom to Read Week) until June 30, 2010. Visit
the Pelham Public Library's Fahrenheit 451: Banned Book web log

Amnesty Weeks
Return your books, CDs, DVDs from Mar. 1 - Mar. 13 and we will WAIVE
your fines on those items. Pre-existing fines will not be waived.
After Mar. 13, you will be asked to pay off ALL fines on your card.
Giant Book Sale
Find it all -- mystery, science, romance, fantasy, science fiction,
adventure, intrigue, decorating, crafts, children's stories,
collectables -- at great prices! Tues., Mar. 2 - Sat., Mar. 6 during
open hours. Final Saturday is Buck-a-Bag Day until 1 p.m. Festival

March Break Excitement

Edible Plants for Hungry Gardeners
As people become more concerned about food safety and cost, freshness
and quality, edible gardens are growing in popularity. Learn the basics
of garden design, how to incorporate edible plants into decorative
gardens, planting techniques, maintenance tips, and harvesting your own
vegetables and herbs. Workshops presented by Restoration Ecologist Chris
DiRaddo, proprietor of Sassafras Farms and key partner in NTEC's
EcoGardens initiative. $2.50 per person. Please register ahead. March

Crime Time Mystery Author
The Pelham Public Library in partnership with Scene of the Crime Books
is pleased to present mystery author Sean Chercover. Formerly a private
investigator in Chicago and New Orleans, Sean Chercover now writes
full-time. His debut novel, BIG CITY BAD BLOOD, won the 2008 Shamus,
Gumshoe, Crimespree, and Lovey awards for best first novel. Books for
sale and signing afterward. Tues., Mar. 23 at 7 p.m. Free!
